Friday File
Chairman’s Note
This week I have spoken with many Republicans all across our state. The common theme I’ve heard far and wide is this; it’s time to move our party forward in unity. I agree because endless fighting gets us nowhere.
I would point out that the job of KSGOP Chairman is big. There is much to do and, the fact is, not everything can be a priority or else nothing is a priority. I have been focused on the positive things but recognize there is a small group who still is unhappy with the outcome of the election and the fact I am the Chairman. No amount of retincence will change that and I extend my hand in friendship and unity asking for those folks to work with me as I am learning this new role of party chairman. No one is perfect, including me, and offering each other some grace would certainly go a long way right now in moving the business of the KSGOP forward.
If you’d like and we’ve not had the chance to talk on the phone or to meet up for coffee, please reach out to me so I can make you a priority next week.
In the words of Bemjamin Franklin, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately."
Let’s Roll.
Mike Brown
It’s been another very busy week at the KSGOP!
Candidate Recruitment
The KSGOP began recruiting efforts this week for school board and city council races across Kansas and the response has been fantastic! Many candidates contacted the KSGOP and we are assisting them in how to file for office and to run for open or Democrat-held seats.
We expect more candidates to contact us in the coming weeks and months and we will be engaging in races where Republicans otherwise may not have run at all. This is part of the strategy to winning this year and in 2024!
If you or someone you know is interested in running for office, have them contact Dakotah Parshall at [email protected] for a conversation about what’s involved and how the KSGOP can help!
Reminder: KSGOP will NEVER recruit candidates for currently-held Republican seats at any level anywhere in Kansas. In the event two or more Republicans file for the same seat, all Republican candidates will be treated fairly, respectfully and uniformly with no favor, overtly or covertly, given to any candidate in that race. The candidates must decide for themselves to file for office and the electorate must decide who our nominee is for each race. After the primary, the KSGOP will step into each of these races to offer all of the support and muscle of the KSGOP. We are 100% about WINNING elections and putting Republicans in offices across Kansas!
New Accountant
Today KSGOP Chairman, Mike Brown, received the resignation letter of our current CPA, Stephen Illif. The KSGOP thanks Mr. Illif for his decade+ of service and wishes him well in the future. Mr. Illif will remain on-board with KSGOP until a new accountant is hired. If you or someone you know is interested in serving the KSGOP in this capacity, please contact [email protected] soon!
Prayers for Kansas State Representative, Samantha Parshall
Kansas State Representative, Samantha Parshall was hospitalized yesterday with complications related to her pregnancy. Samantha is also the wife of KSGOP Executive Director Dakotah Parshall. With a due date in April, she and the baby are stable and we ask for your prayers for mom and baby!
Executive Committee Meeting
An Executive Committee Meeting is being scheduled and a space to hold the meeting is in the works. This meeting will be an opportunity for the Executive Committee to have a look at the KSGOP financials and to discuss other matters of concern. Details will be forthcoming early next week.
