Team — Last month, Pat introduced his first bill of the new Congress: the Health Care Fairness for Military Families Act. The name of the legislation speaks for itself. This bill is about making right hundreds of thousands of military families who do not have access to the same health care coverage as other American families. Pat’s new bill would take important steps towards creating parity in military health care coverage and would provide direct relief to active duty and retired military members and their families.
Pat’s legislation would expand health care coverage to TRICARE beneficiaries with adult children ages 26 and under, lower costs, and protect access for military families from coast to coast. He knows firsthand the sacrifices it takes to serve in our military — and ensuring military families have good, fair health care coverage is the least we can do to thank them for their service to our country. By working directly with veterans and military organizations, Pat and his colleagues across the political spectrum are directly responding to a pressing issue affecting hundreds of thousands of military families. That’s just the kind of work Pat set out to accomplish in Congress, and he’s keeping up the fight for service members every single day.
