This is our moment. After many years of hard work by many people, the Protect and Advance Democracy Act has been introduced to the state legislature as Senate File 2270 and House File 2486! The bill will implement Ranked Choice Voting for state and federal races and also give local jurisdictions the opportunity to adopt RCV for their own elections.
This week, Chief Authors Sen. Kelly Morrison and Rep. Cedrick Frazier introduced the bill, and yesterday, held a media briefing alongside House Elections Chair Rep. Mike Freiberg, former Senate Minority Leader Melisa Lopez-Franzen, and FairVote Minnesota’s own Jeanne Massey. Watch their remarks now! |
The bill has been introduced, but the work isn’t over. There’s still a lot to do and people to convince before RCV becomes law in Minnesota. The number one thing we need you to do is contact your legislators right away and tell them to pass the Protect and Advance Democracy Act. You can also help spread the word by sharing our posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

Let’s let our legislators know that the time is now for less division, more civility, greater voice and choice for voters, and a more inclusive, a representative democracy. Tell them the time is now for the Protect and Advance Democracy Act!
