Hi there,

As we begin Women's History Month, we want to talk about women's FUTURE – because a recent devastating CDC report on teen mental health shows our country is failing adolescent women.

We think it’s important to share this CDC report with you. But just in case you’re short on time, can you help us kick off Women’s History Month by contributing $15 or more so we can support progressive, pro-choice candidates who are committed to fighting for the next generation of women?

In this study, they found that teen girls are having a mental health crisis. According to the Washington Post, these are a few of the heartbreaking stats reported:

🚨 Nearly 60% of teenage girls surveyed said they’d experienced “persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness” in the previous year.
🚨 30% of teenage girls had seriously considered suicide.
🚨 Around 18% of teenage girls said they’d experienced sexual violence in the past year, and 14% had been forced to have sex.
🚨 The survey also showed similar declines in the mental health of LGBTQ+ teens.

This report is eye-opening. The team at Her Bold Move hasn’t been able to stop thinking about it. WE ARE SOUNDING THE ALARM and motivated to take the immediate action necessary to support this generation of women.

Here’s how the Washington Post described it:

“Teens today are growing up under an umbrella of anxiety that would have been unfathomable during their parents’ adolescence. They live with the very real fear of someone barging into their classroom with a gun. They live with intense body-image pressures exacerbated by Instagram scrolling, and worry about the fallout from a momentary lapse of judgment on social media. Many are struggling with the existential threat of climate change.”

These issues are real and heartbreaking. And our feelings about the results of this study are compounded by the fact that our government and the people in power are not doing NEARLY ENOUGH about any of it. We need to elect leaders who will fight to protect the next generation. We need to elect more moms, more women, and more people who run for office to make a difference.

Those are the kinds of leaders we support at Her Bold Move, and we firmly believe that if all of our endorsed candidates were in office, this country would be a much better place – with a much brighter future.

Help us kick off this Women’s History Month by chipping in $15 now so we can fight to elect progressive, pro-choice women who will protect the wellbeing of future generations. →
