The truth is, one of the reasons we did so well in last night’s debate is because we told the truth.

Can Bernie count on you to make a $2.70 contribution to our campaign before our July fundraising deadline comes to an end at midnight TONIGHT?

Friends -

In just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to our campaign. I hope you will give me a chance to explain why this request — especially after last night’s debate — is so important.

The truth is, one of the reasons we did so well in last night’s debate is because we told the truth.

We told the truth about a reality in which almost all of the wealth and income in this country is going to the top 1 percent.

We told the truth about the greed of the insurance and pharmaceutical industries that is literally killing Americans and bankrupting millions more.

We told the truth about a fossil fuel industry that happily accepts short-term profits in exchange for destroying our planet.

We told the truth about corporate America that doesn’t give a damn about the working people of this country.

And we told the truth about the only way to take on these very powerful interests: by building a grassroots movement of millions of Americans who are willing to fight for a government that works for all of us and not just the 1 percent.

That is what this campaign is about. Because I cannot do this alone. And that is why I have to ask:

Can you make your first $2.70 contribution before our July fundraising deadline comes to a close at midnight tonight? I would not ask if it were not so important.

I am not just running to defeat the most dangerous president in our history — one who is a racist, a sexist, and a homophobe.

I am running to transform this country and to stand with the working class of America.

And if we’re in this fight together, we are going to win.

Make a $2.70 contribution before our deadline tonight:

Thank you for everything you’ve done to power this campaign. I cannot do it alone.

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders
