In North Carolina, we are fortunate to have a wealth of natural life around us, and as your representative, I take my role to protect our environment seriously.

That’s why this week, I introduced the Defend Our Coast Act to protect North Carolina’s coastline from offshore oil and gas leasing. If passed, this bill would not only safeguard our environment, but also protect our coastal communities, robust tourism, recreation, and fishing economies.

North Carolina’s way of life is rooted in our natural environment, and our economy depends on a pristine coastline and a healthy marine ecosystem. Too many oil spills continue to pollute our waters, and it’s time to put a permanent end to drilling in the Mid-Atlantic Area.

We’ll need to work together to bring awareness to this pressing issue. So team, will you join me in calling on the House to swiftly pass the Defend Our Coast Act by signing on to my petition today?
