​Hi Team,

This week kicked off Women’s History Month – and here at the WSDC – we have plenty to celebrate! After the successful 2022 election and the incredible additions of Senators Noel Frame, Claudia Kauffman, and Sharon Shewmake to the state Senate, the WA Senate Democratic caucus is now majority women .

Women also dominate leadership roles in the Senate – both Deputy Majority Leaders are women and over half of the Senate Committees are chaired by woman senators.

This is great news for Washington – our senators are passing meaningful legislation for women across our state, from expanding reproductive health care and child care to addressing domestic violence and sexual assault.

The Democratic women of the Senate are breaking barriers and pushing for positive change. That is why this Women’s History Month we are celebrating their public service and all they do for Washington State.
