Hello and happy Friday!
We hope everyone’s week went exceptionally and you have enjoyed this nice pre-Spring weather!
This past Sunday, we watched as one of our staffers, Nathan, get sworn into the U.S. Navy- we wish him the best of luck at OCS and will miss seeing him at the office!
We want to share what we have been up to during session in DC this week.
Tuesday we started the week by introducing a bipartisan resolution to award the Freedom Riders the Congressional Gold Medal for their fight against Jim Crow laws in the South. To read more about the resolution, look here.
Also on Tuesday, we introduced the bipartisan Opportunities for Fairness in Farming Act, or OFF Act with Rep. Titus - and also has bicameral support. This bill aims to reform checkoff programs under the US Department of Agriculture. To read more about the bill, look here.
We joined the House Armed Services Committee to discuss national security and foreign policy as it comes to Ukraine. You can watch the full video here or down below in “in the news.”
Our office met with the SC TV and Radio Broadcasters this week in our DC office to discuss the Local Radio Freedom Act. We also had the opportunity to meet with Palmetto Goodwill to talk about their Excel Center model, which are tuition-free adult high schools.
Our team is hosting another event coming soon! On March 16th we are hosting Coffee With Your Congresswoman in our newly reopened Beaufort office! Make sure to stop by, grab some coffee and donuts, and ask any and all questions! To RSVP, click here.
As always, our office is here to lend a hand whenever we can. As we start this new year, please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to be heard on any issue at any time. We’re here to help.
It’s an immense honor to serve each and every one of you.
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
|
