Just like Brian, I answered the call to service. I followed in the footsteps of my father, grandfathers, and uncles to serve in the U.S. Military. The military took my family and me many places, but Wisconsin will always be my home. As a Second Lieutenant in Afghanistan, I saw firsthand the sacrifices our men and women in uniform were making each day.
During a routine patrol with my platoon, an IED blew up on me and my men. The IED likely supplied by terrorists like Soleimani.
My life changed forever that day as the legs I walked on for the last 23 years of life were gone. After over 20 surgeries to repair what was left of my legs, I returned home to Wisconsin.
I’m running in a critical special election with national implications for the future of Congress. Like Brian, I see the need for electing more combat veterans to Congress.
I’m tired of seeing career politicians disrespect our President and put politics first. We need more combat veterans who will put personal gain aside to do what is right for the American people.
