In January, Michael's bill to cap the out-of-pocket cost of insulin for all Medicare recipients went into effect capping insulin at $35 per month for millions of senior citizens across the country.
Last year, Michael and Senator Raphael Warnock introduced The Affordable Insulin Now Act to cap the monthly cost of insulin for everyone.
Yesterday, pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly announced it will cap the out-of-pocket cost of its insulin at $35 per month, for both insured and uninsured people. This will lower health care costs for hundreds of thousands of Coloradans with diabetes and millions nationwide.
But, folks, the work doesn't stop here.
No one, regardless of age, income, or insurance provider, should have to choose between paying for insulin and paying for groceries. That's why last year, Michael introduced The Affordable Insulin Now Act to cap ALL patients' out-of-pocket costs for insulin at $35 per month.
Passing this bill won't be easy, but if we consolidate enough support behind it, we can make sure every American has affordable access to insulin. Will you sign on as a citizen co-sponsor of my plan to cap insulin prices for all?
Michael commends Eli Lilly's new policy, but knows Congress must take this a step further to ensure every working American can afford their life-saving insulin medication and is ready to double down in his fight to make this happen.
Please add your name alongside Michael's and call on Congress to cap insulin prices for everyone. Each signature brings us a tiny bit closer to lowering health care costs for millions of Americans with diabetes >>
Thank you,
