John,

SEEC Members have had enough of the GOP’s anti-climate rhetoric.

House Republicans just passed a resolution that will overturn the Department of Labor’s rule that allows retirement account managers to use climate change as an investment factor.

This is the latest ploy by Kevin McCarthy to push their “woke capitalism” narrative. While Wall Street and the financial sector finally acknowledge climate change as a real and present threat, Kevin McCarthy, Ron DeSantis, and House Republicans are trying to scare them from advancing climate change policies. By passing this resolution, McCarthy is taking the next step by making decrying “woke capitalism” an active part of his agenda.

John, this is just the beginning. We can’t let the GOP turn back the clock on our hard-fought climate progress. We need to stand strong against this coming storm. Donate now to help SEEC Members stop the far-right's rebranded climate-denying agenda. [[link removed]]

STOP CLIMATE-DENYING GOP » [[link removed]]The moment this resolution was passed, SEEC immediately fought back against the GOP’s anti-climate agenda, condemning their actions. In a written statement, SEEC spoke out and stood with the Department of Labor and its environmental rule:

“As the financial consequences of the climate crisis continue to become clearer, we should be promoting sustainable investing in companies that are working to reduce their carbon footprint rather than restricting investors from planning for our changing future…House Republicans vacuously argue that this Department of Labor rule harms the financial interests of American investors, but in reality, the opposite is true. American retirement savers deserve a safe and secure financial future. We stand ready to work with the Department of Labor as it continues to implement policies that build a healthier future for American workers and their families. "SEEC Members are going toe-to-toe against any attempts to turn back our progress. We can’t let climate denial dominate policy agendas again. Will you donate now to help them keep up the fight?
