Dear John,
Pres. Biden has allowed millions of illegal aliens to pour through our borders. It's bad enough that certain unscrupulous American businesses are so eager to hire them over American workers. Read below just how common it is for certain corporations to hire even child laborers.
Pres. Biden is boasting about his largely futile efforts to prevent such modern-day indentured servitude. But he's too ideologically extreme in his support for open borders to use the most powerful tool he has: E-Verify, which could make sure that nearly every worker in America is authorized to work.
NumbersUSA has been pushing for mandating E-Verify since it was first introduced more than 25 years ago. No one should be smuggled into the United States to take American jobs. But it's all the more intolerable that corporations like General Foods and Fruit of the Loom are using child laborers, here in America!
Many of them claim they are fleeing persecution in their home countries. But as long as they're entering illegally, we know they can take American jobs... and to do that, they often commit tax fraud and identity theft.
Don't just scream at your computer screens! We can actually do something about this!!!
First, we can shame the corporations who have been caught doing this. (Find out who's using E-Verify, and choose businesses that hire legal workers.)
Then, check your Action Board for ways to tell your members of Congress to pass the Legal Workforce Act which mandates businesses use E-Verify. (Businesses already have to collect the same data for I-9 forms, so it's hardly a difficult switch!)
Finally, the most powerful thing you can do is donate to NumbersUSA. By donating, you can multiply the impact of your voice... by helping raise hundreds of thousands of others' voices.

Over the weekend, the New York Times ran an explosive investigative article proving that thousands of illegal alien children are being worked in jobs so dangerous that even adults think twice before taking them. It's a national disgrace, and the article speaks for itself:
"Federal law bars minors from a long list of dangerous jobs, including roofing, meat processing and commercial baking. Except on farms, children younger than 16 are not supposed to work for more than three hours or after 7 p.m. on school days.
"But these jobs — which are grueling and poorly paid, and thus chronically short-staffed — are exactly where many migrant children are ending up. Adolescents are twice as likely as adults to be seriously injured at work, yet recently arrived preteens and teenagers are running industrial dough mixers, driving massive earthmovers and burning their hands on hot tar as they lay down roofing shingles, The Times found.
"Unaccompanied minors have had their legs torn off in factories and their spines shattered on construction sites, but most of these injuries go uncounted. The Labor Department tracks the deaths of foreign-born child workers but no longer makes them public."

Legs torn off? Spines shattered? This is the result of your policies of loose borders, failure to screen sponsors of unaccompanied alien children, and few worksite inspections. Pres. Biden hasn't even asked Congress to require use of E-Verify for every employer, which would immediately stop much of these problems! Are we some kind of monsters?
We at NumbersUSA say NO to children being brought into this country to work very nearly in slavery conditions to make crooked employers rich.
This must STOP! We need and DEMAND mandatory E-Verify for every U.S. employer! We need and DEMAND that the Biden administration stop winking at illegal border crossings. We DEMAND that Pres. Biden STOP his catch-and-release policies which have resulted in more than a million illegal aliens being released into the interior of the U.S. during Biden's term.
The New York Times article centers on those children known as "unaccompanied minors," who came into this country without adult relatives. Many of these kids feel huge pressure to get jobs and send money home. It is already illegal for them to work in this country. Knowing this, many unscrupulous bosses hire them to do dangerous jobs unsafe even for adults.
Back to the text of the article:
"The deaths [of migrant child workers since 2017] include a 14-year-old food delivery worker who was hit by a car while on his bike at a Brooklyn intersection; a 16-year-old who was crushed under a 35-ton tractor-scraper outside Atlanta; and a 15-year-old who fell 50 feet from a roof in Alabama where he was laying down shingles.
"In 2021, Karla Campbell, a Nashville labor lawyer, helped a woman figure out how to transport the body of her 14-year-old grandson, who had been killed on a landscaping job, back to his village in Guatemala. It was the second child labor death she had handled that year."
It's easy for us to get indignant at illegal aliens who come to America to take jobs that rightly belong to Americans and legal immigrants. But these stories of exploited children rend the heart! Our government should not turn a blind eye to smugglers who send these kids on dangerous, sometimes fatal trips across the desert. It should not tolerate a system of semi-slavery employment. It's wrong in every sense. UNKIND and CRUEL. It must STOP!
Please help NumbersUSA as we FIGHT to end open borders policies. Help us as we work hard to make E-Verify mandatory for every U.S. employer. We are fighting hard, and we're making progress in this new Congress! But we do need financial help.
To help us reform our immigration system and stop these abuses, please donate to NumbersUSA Action today.
