March is Colorectal (Colon) Cancer Awareness Month
People with cystic fibrosis age 40 or older or post-transplant can prevent the risk for colorectal cancer with regular colonoscopy screenings. Regular screenings are an effective way to treat as well as prevent colorectal cancer. The risk for colorectal cancer is 5-10 times greater for adults with CF compared to the general population, and even higher for people with CF who have had a solid organ transplant.
