For many, higher education is a pathway toward upward mobility, but obtaining a college degree without student loans has become unaffordable for many Americans.

That’s why Lauren is proud to support President Biden’s student loan debt forgiveness plan, which is overwhelmingly popular with the American people and could liberate millions of Americans from the financial burden brought on by student loans. Right now, the Supreme Court is deciding the fate of 43 million Americans burdened with student loan debt.

This plan is a lifeline to families struggling with rising inflation, stagnant wages, and increasing education costs by allowing them the opportunity to afford everyday necessities, buy homes, open businesses and so much more.

But since a Trump-appointed federal judge blocked President Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan, it’s now up to the far-right Supreme Court to decide. They are considering legal challenges to cancel up to $20,000 in student debt for borrowers but as we all know, the president is acting within the law to avoid families’ further suffering during a national crisis .

The public health crisis has caused financial hardships to student loan borrowers across the country and Lauren will not give up her fight to provide relief. She is tackling this urgent issue from every angle to ensure affordable higher education, one of the most valuable resources we have, is accessible to Americans of every background.
