This week, I shared I will not be running for the open Senate seat in California.

I’m really excited to see my friend Elissa running and I hope you will join me by making a split donation between our campaigns today.

Elissa and I got to know each other in 2018 as we both flipped red districts in the Blue Wave. We connected instantly because we had similar stories about why we ran for Congress. She also ran for office to fix our healthcare system - her mom had stage IV ovarian cancer and it drained their family savings.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Elissa in Congress - and she is a rockstar. She has led the charge with me pushing back against corruption (she also doesn’t take a dime of corporate PAC money) and we’ve been in the trenches together comparing notes on how to win in toss-up districts. I consider her a friend and a confidante, and I’m so excited she’s running for Senate.

I believe Elissa is exactly the kind of leader we need to break through Republican obstruction and actually get things done in the U.S. Senate. And did I mention that winning this Michigan seat is going to be essential if we want to keep the Senate blue next year?
