John, happy Women's History Month! February passed by in a blur, but before I say anything else – thank you.
Thank you for the time, energy, and dedication you've poured into me and my team. Without you, all the great things we did in February might not have been possible. Here's a look at a few of the highlights:
🔷 I gave a response to the State of the Union on behalf of the Working Families Party. After President Biden's address, I laid out my vision for how our government could better support working families across the country.
🔷 I didn't forget about the people back home. With Chicago elections right around the corner, I've been reliving my days on the campaign trail – this time for other passionate candidates who share my vision for a better Illinois.
🔷 I called out Republican nonsense. Despite what Republicans have been saying, it's clear that they've got their sights set on cutting down important programs like Social Security, and Medicare. My colleagues and I are working hard to call their nonsense what it is – political games to further their own agendas.
🔷 I collaborated with 70 other lawmakers to advocate for Medicare reform. Toward the end of the month, I joined 70 other lawmakers calling on President Biden and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to take steps to make Medicare better for all its beneficiaries.
And this all couldn't have happened without you and other passionate people standing in my corner. I am beyond excited to continue to learn and grow with you, and see what the rest of the year has in store. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
