Friend, I’m celebrating my 65th birthday! I’m going to ask you to help celebrate my birthday by splitting a gift between MeidasTouch and my reelection campaign, but first I want to share some thoughts on this milestone:
When my wife Anne turned 65 earlier this year, I told her, "You’re not getting older. You’re getting badder!"
Well, I don’t know if the same holds true for me. But I DO know that I’m incredibly grateful for all the incredible experiences I’ve gotten to have throughout this life, and more than anything else, the people I’ve gotten to meet.
I’ve been so lucky to meet thousands and thousands of Virginians and Americans throughout my time in public service, and I’ve learned something from each new person I’ve gotten to know.
I’ve learned more about what people truly value: family, time with loved ones, good health, economic security, a safe and secure home. I’ve learned what can make people smile: great music, a friendly face, a helping hand. And I’ve learned a lot about the universal struggles that people endure: grief, loss, the stress of providing for family and caring for children, unexpected costs and illnesses and other roadblocks of life.
We need to find commonsense solutions to ease some of those struggles – and that is why I’ve dedicated my career to public service. As a missionary, a civil rights attorney, and an elected official at the local, state and federal levels, I've woken up every day with a true sense of purpose: to do what I can, where I can, to help people across Virginia and America live a better life.
With this purpose in mind, I’m seeking reelection to the Senate in 2024. I’ve been lucky to have the support of so many people over the past three decades, and I hope I’ll be able to count on your support again during this campaign.
As I head out on the campaign trail to keep Virginia blue in the next election, will you help by splitting a $20 donation – or whatever amount is meaningful to you today – between me and MeidasTouch?
