Democrats don't talk about abortion because it's a "wedge issue."It's not "a voter turnout strategy," or an "appeal to the base."

It's health care – essential, critical care that drastically affects, and often saves, real people's lives.

That's especially true in rural communities, where women are more than 60 percent more likely to die from pregnancy complications than women in urban areas.

When we talk about the importance of electing pro-choice candidates in rural communities, our movement isn't looking to score points. We're looking to protect the right of rural women to steer or save their own lives without government interference.
