The IAN Slack Community is looking for 5 Community Champions! Community Champions are experienced immigration attorneys who would be willing to:
* Share and post content on a regular basis
* Respond to other community member resource posts with a comment or positive emoji
* Help respond to legal questions if possible

* USCIS Updates Child Status Protection Act (CSPA) Age Calculation for Certain Adjustment of Status Applicants ([link removed]) , U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has issued guidance in the USCIS Policy Manual to update when an immigrant visa number “becomes available” for the purpose of calculating a noncitizen’s age in certain situations under the Child Status Protection Act (CSPA).
* DHS and DOJ Propose Rule to Incentivize Lawful Migration Processes ([link removed]) , DOJ & DHS are issuing a proposed rule to incentivize the use of new and existing lawful processes and disincentivize dangerous border crossings, by placing a new condition on asylum eligibility for those who fail to do so.
* Trafficked & Tortured, Mapping ICE Transfers ([link removed]) , Freedom for Immigrants released a resource that exposes how ICE weaponizes inter-detention transfers of people in its custody to pad the agency’s budget and as a harsh form of retaliation, torture, and labor trafficking.
* Nationwide Detention Facility Resource Directory ([link removed]) , FFI released an updated list of Detention facilities.
* Unblocking the U.S. Immigration System: Executive Actions to Facilitate the Migration of Needed Workers ([link removed]) , MPI released a policy brief that outlines a range of actions the executive branch could take under current law to facilitate the migration of needed workers, retain immigrants already in the U.S. workforce, and ease challenges experienced by U.S. employers and their foreign-born workers. Many are proposals for small-bore changes to improve the efficiency of caseload processing at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the State Department.
