Dominique Arel

Dr. Dominique Arel is Associate Professor of Political Science and Chair of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Ottawa, Canada. Dr. Arel is an expert on comparative nationalism and a founding member of the Association for the Study of Nationalities. He co-edited Rebounding Identities: The Politics of Identity in Russia and Ukraine (John Hopkins University Press, 2006). Dr. Arel manages The Ukraine List (UKL), an electronic academic/current events newsletter that reaches over 1500 subscribers in thirty-five countries.

Jesse Driscoll

Dr. Jesse Driscoll is associate professor of political science and chair of the Global Leadership Institute at the University of California (San Diego). He is a specialist in Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Russian-speaking world, and author among other works of Warlords and Coalition Politics in Post-Soviet States (Cambridge University Press 2015).

Suzanne Loftus is a research fellow in the Eurasia Program at the Quincy Institute and author of Insecurity and the Rise of Nationalism in Putin’s Russia (Palgrave Macmillan 2019). Her latest book, Russia, China and the West in the Post-Cold War Era, will be published in April 2023.
