Breaking: Trump Opens Door to Cuts to Medicare and Social Security

John --

There’s a lot going on in Washington this week with the impeachment trial underway, but this is a major issue that we can’t afford to lose focus on.

In an interview yesterday, President Trump revealed that if he wins a second term he’d be willing to make cuts to programs like Medicare and Social Security in order to bring down the deficit.

If we want to address our soaring debts and deficit, I’d advise Trump and Republicans to take a good hard look at the tax cuts they passed in 2017 for the ultra-wealthy and for corporations.

These cuts gave millionaires and billionaires $17 billion in savings and cut the corporate tax rate by 14%. That added $1.9 trillion to our national debt. Now, Trump and his Republican enablers want to pay for it by slashing Social Security and Medicare.

This would mean major cuts for all of us who have paid into Medicare and Social Security our entire lives.

I’m working to stop these cruel cuts and fight for the middle class families who Trump and the Republicans have betrayed. To do that, I need to win my re-election campaign in 2020. Will you pitch in $3 or whatever you can afford, to support our efforts to keep the 49th District blue?
