Friend, two of the regions with some of the worst inequalities in air and water quality in the country are right here in California — in the Central Valley and the Inland Empire.
Oil drilling, groundwater depletion, construction of warehouses, and transportation emissions all contribute to a toxic and unsafe environment that community members are battling constantly.
Fortunately, we know the way for these communities to receive justice: through on-the-ground community organizing.
And that’s exactly what our powerful team of Ambassadors is doing with their Water Equity & Clean Air Now campaign!
The EnviroVoters Ed Fund Ambassadors Program identifies, cultivates, and supports young leaders from marginalized communities in the Central Valley and Inland Empire with the goal of building power to effect change on key issues like clean air, clean water, and climate resiliency, with a focus on racial justice, equity, and a green and just economic recovery.
The Ambassadors this year are hard at work hard on the ground recruiting volunteers to assemble a youth-led, youth-driven task force that will demand local government leaders and agencies prioritize the needs of their communities.
