Today is Minnesota Day, a day we celebrate all the things that make our state great. Whether its our rich mining heritage, the beautiful outdoors, or our family-first communities, there's something for everyone to appreciate.

Whenever I am asked what one of my favorite homegrown traditions is, I don't hesitate to tell them it's hockey and hotdish.

Can you believe some people don't know the joy of a steamy casserole topped with golden tots? Or the sound of skates and hockey sticks on a frozen winter pond? Sad!

I'm proud to be from and represent Northeastern Minnesota, and I'm not afraid to show it.
