It’s official, John.
Last night, Brandon Johnson advanced to an April runoff for the Chicago Mayoral election.
As a former public school teacher, union organizer, and county commissioner, Brandon is a battle-tested leader committed to building a stronger, more equitable city.
He couldn’t be more different than his opponent in the runoff — Paul Vallas — a conservative who has called himself “more of a Republican than a Democrat” and a public school privatizer who has said he opposes abortion and has the full backing of the Fraternal Order of Police.1
We can win this race – but with only five weeks until the runoff on April 4th, Brandon needs all of us to have his back right now. Will you rush a contribution of $10 to Brandon Johnson’s campaign to fight back against the flood of dark money conservatives are prepared to spend to stop our movement?

John — we can’t understate how huge this moment is for our movement. After years of painstaking work by Chicago organizers building power, including our friends at United Working Families, we are now one step closer to seeing a true working families champion become mayor of Chicago.
Brandon surged into the top two of this race — besting incumbent Lori Lightfoot and making her a one-term mayor — by running a people-powered campaign and building a multiracial coalition.
But the stakes of the runoff could not be higher.
Brandon’s opponent Paul Vallas has gone from city to city on a mission to defund our public schools, firing hundreds of teachers and laying the groundwork to close schools in primarily Black and Latino neighborhoods.2 He has the full backing of Republican mega-donors, who are prepared to spend big to defeat our movement. But Brandon has the momentum on his side — and he has all of us too.
Will you rush a donation to elect former public school teacher and CTU organizer Brandon Johnson as Chicago’s next Mayor? Your donation will go directly to Brandon Johnson’s campaign.
