Happy Women’s History Month, John!

As we kick off a month of reflection and celebration, I wanted to share with you my own thoughts about the historic achievements we’ve made and the progress we’re still fighting for.

Arizona has a long history of electing women. In fact, we made history this year by becoming the first state to have five female governors! I’m so proud to be a part of this legacy, and I hope to see even more women elected to higher office across the country.

Our accomplishments don’t come without challenges, however. In the workplace, women earn 82 cents to every dollar a man makes – and that amount is even lower for Black and Hispanic women.

Not to mention the onslaught of attacks targeting our reproductive rights. Just last month, Arizona Republicans passed a bill in the state legislature that would take away a woman’s bodily autonomy and criminalize doctors and nurses for providing lifesaving reproductive health care.

As Republicans continue to try and restrict our freedoms and ignore the issues everyday women are facing, just know this: I will always do everything in my power to support women’s rights – including using my veto stamp any time a bill restricting reproductive rights hits my desk.

That’s not all, John. I’m focused on investing in our public schools, clean water and air, and supporting local small businesses so that we can all thrive here in Arizona.
