Axing Your Taxes Plan

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING

Rep. Heather Meyer

"?The Legislature is great at cutting taxes for giant multinational corporations, and not so great at doing the same for families, which makes little sense to me. The price of food is hitting Kansans hard and they?ve been very clear in their ask: Axe our taxes. As legislators, it?s our most basic duty to act."

"There?s no good reason that Kansas families are shouldering the brunt of the state?s tax burden. If the Legislature had passed the original food tax cut instead of a watered-down, 3-year phase out, Kansans would have saved over $350 million by now. Instead they continue to wait. This is one quick, sustainable way to provide direct relief to Kansans at a time they need it most.?
"*-Kansas Rep. Heather Meyer, District 29*

"?Cutting taxes on groceries, feminine hygiene products and diapers makes good sense for all populations, but the greatest impact will be on women and vulnerable families with financial stressors.?"
*-Senator Usha Reddi, District 22*
