Friend -- 47 years ago this week, the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade, the landmark case that protects a woman's right to choose.
I believe that reproductive freedom and access to comprehensive healthcare options -- including abortion -- are fundamental to women's empowerment. But those rights are under attack.
Right now, conservative ideologues are hoping that a new Supreme Court case is their chance to roll back Roe v. Wade, and the gains for women that have come with it. Many of my Republican colleagues in the House have taken the radical step of asking the court to overturn decades of precedent by reconsidering Roe altogether.
We can't let that happen. I'm fighting to protect women's access to comprehensive, high quality, and affordable healthcare, and as we mark the 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, I hope you'll chip in and join me.
Ideological politics have no place in the exam room. But whether it is the Trump administration's dangerous Title X gag rule that restricted Minnesotans' access to healthcare at Planned Parenthood clinics, or draconian abortion bans in Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, and other states, we have seen critical rights for women steadily undermined.
I've been a committed fighter for those rights. It's why I'm proud to have the endorsement of groups like NARAL Pro-Choice America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund, groups that are working to advance the health and economic security of women.
We need advocates for women's reproductive rights in Congress more than ever before. If you agree, chip in to our campaign today!
Thank you,
Dean
