When you give to Heifer International, you set a cycle of change in motion. Just one animal gift has the power to create a big impact for a family struggling to put food on the table. The gift will help a family expand their farm, increase their crops, and increase their income by selling animal products like milk or eggs.

But the reach of one gift goes much further than that. Women finding their voice … men learning how to market their products … children growing healthy and strong … but I don’t want to spoil the surprise! Let me go back to the beginning.

Thanks to Heifer donors, a family is preparing for their gift right now! Before a family receives an animal from Heifer, they participate in extensive training to learn how to properly care for the animal and how to implement sustainable farming methods. Ultimately, we want the family to succeed — and we want to be good stewards of gifts from Heifer supporters.

The gift will then go to a project in one of the 19 countries where we work, like Honduras. We work with farmers to increase land and livestock productivity and help connect them to markets where they can sell their goods at more profitable prices.

Throughout the year, I’ll update you on the power of a gift and the incredible change you can make possible. With your help, the future can be abuzz with possibility!
