Creating a safer place for all of our residents requires coordinated efforts between the Council, the Mayor, and all of our agencies with a presence in the community as well as advocacy groups working to make the city safe. The discussion included the ways our government has augmented traditional approaches to addressing public safety with an evidence-based public health approach.
Speakers included representatives from the Metropolitan Police Department, Collaborative Solutions for Communities which runs Ward 1’s violence interrupter program, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and the D.C. Attorney General’s office.

Telephone Town HallLast week, Councilmember Nadeau held a telephone town hall to provide an update from Council including her latest efforts on behalf of residents, and callers asked questions of the Councilmember.
