Nebraska Senator Pete Ricketts previously served the people of Nebraska for 8 years as Governor, where he was instrumental in keeping "legal" marijuana out of Nebraska. During his time as governor, he also implemented programs to curtail the opioid epidemic, which helped Nebraska have the second lowest opioid overdose rate in the nation. Senator Ricketts currently serves on the Environment and Public Works Committee, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and the Special Senate Committee on Aging.
