Selvam was just a small baby when his family had to move to a rice mill in South Asia to pay off a small debt they owed to the mill owner. It’s a place they wouldn’t leave for the next two decades.
Children should be born into a life of freedom, not forced to grow up in darkness. Living in the mill, his family was forced to work under constant verbal abuse and physical confinement.“There were many days we did not have enough food,” says Selvam. “We would just drink thin rice gruel and fill our stomachs with it before we went to sleep.”
No child should suffer hunger and abuse like Selvam and his siblings. It’s for children like them that we are excited to share a special, limited-time match that will allow you to send twice the rescue.
You'll not only help send rescue teams to bring freedom, but you'll also help restore the lives of survivors. Any amount you give today will double to help take children from lives of pain to futures full of promise.
Don’t miss this chance to double your impact today.
Gifts given by 11:59 p.m. on March 31 will double in impact up to a total of $300,000.
Any amount above that total will be used to meet IJM’s most urgent needs. Stock image. Subjects depicted are not survivors of bonded labor, and images are used with consent.
