Kitsap County Solid Waste Division and its partner?DTG Recycle [ [link removed] ]?are holding a *Styrofoam*?*and Mattress Recycle Collection Event* for Kitsap County households on April 15, 2023 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds Events Center.

* Limit one vehicle load per household
* No businesses or box trucks

*Styrofoam? - FREE*

Clean and dry foam only, with tape and labels removed. Separate colorful foam from white.


* Packaging material
* Blocks
* Coolers
* Packing peanuts
* Takeout boxes
* Meat trays and cups

Payment made to DTG Recycle by cash or card. Must be dry.?

* No foam microbeads
* No insulation foam
* No sealed foam
* No foil-lined foam
* No hot tub & dock foam
* No soft / flexible foam (EPE)

*What happens to the items collected?*

DTG Recycle disassembles mattresses by hand and sorts the components for recycling. Mattress foam is used to make carpet padding, wood becomes hog fuel, and metal becomes a variety of new products. Styrofoam is densified into blocks that are sold into global recycling markets. The material most often becomes picture frames.
