Hello John, my name is April
Green. You might have heard about my nephew, Keita O’Neil, in the news.

Back in 2017, a San Francisco police officer, Christopher Samayoa, fired
shots through his vehicle window and killed my beautiful nephew. Keita’s
mother and I have been fighting for justice ever since and we have ONE
MORE DAY to make sure that the man who killed him is held accountable.

Keita was unarmed. We’re talking about 0.39 seconds from the time my
nephew took his foot off the pedal and left it running to when he was
shot.

Now I could spend my entire life looking back and focusing on this loss.
But this case is not just about my nephew. My nephew is gone. He's not
coming back.

This is about future Black and brown men and the interactions they have
with the police. Keita is not the first and he won’t be the last. There’s
so many other kids that are being unjustly murdered by police.

And to address that, I’m so glad Real Justice has joined me in this fight
to win accountability and honor Keita by making sure that the cop who
killed him is held accountable.

We can’t count on the San Francisco District Attorney, Brooke Jenkins, to
help. She’s said that she will dismiss the charges against Officer Samayoa
on TOMORROW.

That’s why, together, we are demanding that Attorney General Rob Bonta
pick up the case and prosecute Christopher Samayoa for killing Keita.

I am currently in the hospital but will be home soon. I have stage 3
ovarian cancer and will need chemo. I’m feeling better but moving slowly.
I'm begging this man from my bed, as I speak to you, that he takes my
nephew’s case and be my voice — not just my voice, but the voice of our
Black and brown men that are being murdered by the San Francisco police.

The police union will do everything to delay and deny my family justice,
as they have been doing for five years.

This case could set a precedent for future cases that involve police that
abuse their power. It will show that police can be held accountable too.
But it will only happen if all of you join me in demanding that AG Bonta
take on this important case.

It's time for the glass bubble that has been protecting police for eons to
be cracked. And my nephew's case is the one that can set that standard.
