John, the first couple of months of 2023 have been a whirlwind. As our new session of Congress was sworn in – with a Republican majority in the House of Representatives – our nation witnessed several mass shootings, an onslaught of attacks on LGTBQ+ rights, and continued hostility toward reproductive freedom.

I’m working as hard as ever to do my job in Congress, but it seems as though my Republican colleagues are only interested in fighting the culture wars. When I speak out against the continued terror of gun violence, I’m consistently put under attack by the gun lobbies and the extremist officials they back.

However, change doesn’t come quickly in Congress and we’re in this for the long haul.
