The Discipline of Hope: Reflections on Walking with Social Movements in Puerto Rico

They have organized with great courage, taking crises as opportunities to decolonize minds, bodies, and territories, and to deepen popular power. They are the ones who work day after day for a just recovery and a long-term sustainable reconstruction, rejecting the idea of ​​rebuilding old systems that reproduce oppression and that put people in such a vulnerable position in the first place.”

 

Federation Celebrated for Black Resistance in Fields and Food

This month, our grantee the Federation of Southern Cooperatives (FSC) has been celebrated for its "Farmers As First Responders" video campaign. It shows how Black farmers in the US South have historically resisted racial oppression and created cooperatives to express collective care, self-determination, and political power.
