House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has given Fox’s Tucker Carlson exclusive access to over 44,000 hours worth of security footage from January 6th.
John,
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy released a massive set of January 6th videos to right-wing propagandist Tucker Carlson. The footage he’s making available to Fox News is a treasure trove of closely held security information, some of which could expose security vulnerabilities and increase the risk for future attacks on the Capitol complex.
This is both unprecedented and incredibly dangerous.
Hand picking a release to Tucker Carlson shows deep pandering to election denialism and conspiracy theories rather than any commitment to public information and truth.
That’s why we sent McCarthy a letter, demanding he either retrieve the 44,000 hours of video footage that he provided to Tucker Carlson or make the same footage available to the public.
To put the pressure on McCarthy, we need supporters across the country to co-sign our letter in support. Be our first co-signer from Washington and co-sign our letter demanding McCarthy retrieve this footage from Tucker Carlson →
McCarthy confirmed in a fundraising email that he released “44,000 hours of uncut camera surveillance footage” to Tucker Carlson and Fox News. He did so without consulting the Chief of the U.S. Capitol Police, the House Minority Leader, House Republican leadership, the Senate Majority Leader, or the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms.
If McCarthy refuses to retrieve the videos from Carlson, then the videos must be made available to the American public.
As McCarthy stated in his fundraising email, Americans deserve “all of the facts” surrounding January 6th – not just what Tucker Carlson wants to selectively televise.
That’s why we’re demanding McCarthy must either retrieve the 44,000 hours of video footage that he provided to Tucker Carlson or make the same footage available to the public.
Help us put the pressure on Kevin McCarthy by co-signing our letter today →
Thanks for taking action,
