Over recent weeks, we have seen appalling new acts of violence and terror
in Israel and the occupied West Bank -- growing even worse in the past few
days, with Palestinian gunmen killing Israelis in multiple terror attacks,
and settlers launching a devastating pogrom against the Palestinian town
of Huwara.

This alarming escalation unfolds as the far-right Netanyahu government
continues to press ahead with major steps toward annexation -- and with
its push to undercut liberal democracy and the independent judiciary in
Israel.

Amidst this crisis, J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami has just returned
from leading our latest Congressional Delegation and Leadership Mission to
the region. He led 15 Members of Congress through an intensive week of
touring the situation on the ground and meeting with Israeli and
Palestinian officials, experts and activists.
