New Authority for OSHA Can Help Survivors
On February 13, 2023, the US Department of Labor announced it has finally granted the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) the authority to issue T and U Visa certifications. This long-awaited authority will increase opportunities for survivors of human trafficking to access immigration relief. The T Visa gives immigration status to non-citizen survivors, including a path to citizenship, providing immediate safety and access to services and benefits.

We are proud to be the nation’s largest coalition working to ensure that trafficked persons have access to justice, safety, and opportunity. One of the most vital pieces of this work is pushing our government toward policies that prioritize the safety and well-being of all survivors.
Just this week, the New York Times released in-depth reporting that included detailed accounts of labor trafficking and exploitation of unaccompanied children experience. FNUSA advocates for policies that incorporate the needs of immigrants, labor trafficking survivors, and other population populations that are commonly overlooked. In order to do this we need your help. Please make a financial gift today to support this work today and beyond.
