Tomorrow, I have an important fundraising deadline. Before I tell you about that, I want to explain just how important my work in Congress is and how vital your support is.

Earlier this month, House Republicans proposed their “Fair Tax Act”, which would add a national sales tax to everything you buy. But this would also give the wealthiest Americans a massive tax cut because the plan would remove federal income and estate taxes.

When the bill was proposed on the House floor, little was said about how this would address the impact inflation is having on everyday Americans. That’s because this act would make costs for the everyday American go up even more.

It’s no surprise that Americans largely oppose this bill across party lines.

If you know me, you know I believe we should focus our time in Congress addressing the real problems our nation is facing and working together to find solutions that put the people, the climate, and the economy of our country back on track.

This is why we need to listen to the voices and priorities of Americans, especially those living in the heartland.
