John,Â
Last week marked one year since the invasion of Ukraine by Russia and the start of a brutal war that has displaced more than 13 million people from their homes.Â
In response to the crisis, the New York Immigration Coalition — as we always have — has welcomed over 3,500 newly arrived refugees and currently residing Ukrainian New Yorkers with our Ukrainian Response Initiative. The program provides access to health screenings, legal services support, and financial literacy and employment workshops. By connecting Ukrainians with critical services and information, we’ve helped recently arrived people integrate into our communities and begin laying the foundation for a more stable future in New York.Â
One year later, we remain committed to welcoming refugees seeking better lives for themselves and their families in the face of this traumatic conflict. Support our work as we help refugees survive and thrive in New York!
