47 Years of Abortion on Demand in America
Yesterday, January 22, pro-life citizens across the country mourned the 47th anniversary of the infamous Roe v. Wade US Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion on demand in America. Since then over 61 million American persons have been legally killed while they were in their mothers’ wombs. This court decision was the concoction of judicially activist judges who were determined to interpret the constitution in a way that furthered what they believed was popular opinion and politically correct. Progress has been made on the prolife front, but much work remains to be done.
In Wisconsin since 1974 over 566,000 unborn persons have been killed at the hands of abortionists. This is equivalent to the combined populations of Madison, Green Bay, Kenosha, Racine and South Milwaukee. In 2017, over 5,800 babies were aborted. Abortion is a scourge that must be abolished in our state and nation.
There are numerous events taking place across the Badger State that are recognizing the sanctity of human life and mourning Roe v Wade. Click HERE to find a pro-life event in your community. Make plans to attend and take others with you.

Personhood Belongs to Everyone—Born and Unborn
Last week Wisconsin legislators had the opportunity to co-sponsor a resolution known as the Personhood Amendment. This amendment would make a significant change in the wording of our state constitution which in specifying the beneficiaries of its human rights leaves out the preborn. It applies the rights of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” only to those people who are “born.” The proposed amendment adds the sentence, “As applied to the right to life, the term 'persons' shall apply to every human being at any stage of development, born or unborn.”
Julaine Appling, WFA president says, "This resolution is proactive, looking forward to the time when Roe v. Wade is overturned and the issue of abortion reverts to the states. If this amendment becomes law, then when that happens, unborn persons in our state would be fully protected just like born persons. We don’t want to be like Kansas and Iowa and allow courts to fabricate a right to abortion in our state constitution."

DPI Loses School Choice Case
From Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL):
"Many schools have turned to virtual learning days, where students participate in classroom activities from home, to mitigate disruptive events like snow days. DPI currently allows public schools to count virtual instruction towards the hourly pupil instruction requirements. But in February, DPI determined that private schools in the choice program could not count virtual instruction towards their hourly pupil instruction requirements.
"WILL sued DPI, on behalf of School Choice Wisconsin Action, because state law does not empower DPI to make policy decisions without going through the rule-making process.
...
"Judge Bohren agreed with WILL on all counts."
>>>>>Read more about this issue and the positive outcome of the lawsuit HERE.
"This is excellent news," says Julaine Appling, WFA president, "Thank you to WILL and School Choice Wisconsin for challenging this DPI rule. Voucher schools are generally doing a wonderful job of educating students at a much lower cost per pupil than our public schools and shouldn’t be restricted from expanding their programs. For parents interested in vouchers, materials are now available at dpi.wi.gov."
When It Comes to Sports, No Boys Allowed...On Girls' Teams
From the Daily Citizen:
"Member of the House of Representatives Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) has introduced a bill which would prohibit Title IX funds from financing women’s sports when biological males are allowed to compete against biological women. The bill is aptly called the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act (H.R.5603)."
Read more HERE.
"While impeachment continues to consume liberals," Julaine Appling, WFA president says, "some elected officials are still keeping their focus on what’s really important—the true good of the people they represent. This bill is very necessary today—sadly so—to protect women. Unfortunately, the votes aren’t there in the House to pass it, but I applaud these lawmakers. I’m confident if the bill got to the President, he would sign it."
