Dear friends,

As February, a painful month for our founding families, comes to a close, we wanted to sincerely thank you for your support.

Every year since the murder of our loved ones five years ago, this month has been a difficult one for the Parkland victims’ families. We truly appreciate you being a part of this community — whether that's by staying updated on our work, donating to our commemoration fundraising drive, or following us on social media. For this year’s commemorative drive, we’ve raised over $2,000 so far, which will help push our movement forward.

If it is financially feasible for you, we would greatly appreciate any last-minute contributions before the drive officially comes to an end in less than 24 hours.

In early February, Stand with Parkland met with lawmakers in Washington DC to discuss our legislative priorities for making schools safer. Many productive conversations were had, and we’re thankful to all of the representatives and senators, from both sides of the aisle, we met with for taking the time to listen — we're counting on them to make this issue a priority in the 118th Congress!

- Rep. Jared Moskowitz (FL) - A Parkland native, Rep. Moskowitz helped Republicans and Democrats find common ground on school safety at the state level in FL. He is now Congressman in Washington and Vice Chair of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force.

- Rep. Lucy McBath (GA) - Rep. McBath understands firsthand the grief and pain of losing a loved one to gun violence and last year, she successfully led the charge in Washington to expand and fund red flag laws.

- Rep. Maxwell Alejandro Frost (FL) - Rep. Frost is a young Floridian (and the youngest member of the 118th Congress!) who understands the deep impact the Parkland school massacre has had on our state.

- Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (FL) - Rep. Luna is an Air Force veteran proudly serving the people of Florida’s 13th congressional district.

- Sen. Richard Blumenthal (CT) - Sen. Blumenthal is a strong bipartisan negotiator on school safety who has recently reintroduced "Ethan's Law," a bill about the safe storage of firearms, into the Senate.

- Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA) - Rep. Fitzpatrick has been a steadfast advocate for passing comprehensive, bi-partisan action in wake of our country’s mass violence epidemic.

- Rep. Bobby Scott (VA) - Rep. Scott has been a consistent and strong voice in Congress for taking action to make our schools safer.

- Sen. Rick Scott (FL) - Sen. Scott is an ally to our work regarding school safety and helps us look for innovative ways to accomplish our mission.

Stand with Parkland was happy to bring the EAGLES Act, which we have supported for years, to the attention of Rep. Moskowitz (D-FL-23) when we met with him last month. We’re glad to see that this month, he has partnered with Rep. Díaz-Balart (R-FL-26) to re-introduce the bill, showing bipartisan support for this pragmatic legislation to help make America’s schools safer.

"The reintroduction of the EAGLE Act brings us one step closer to ensuring that no parent ever has to experience the heartbreak of losing a child to senseless violence. We stand with them in this critical effort to protect our students and communities." — Tony Montalto, president of Stand with Parkland and father of Gina Rose
