Not sure if you saw my earlier emails.
I wanted to give you a “peek behind the curtain” you might not get from other nonprofit organizations.
- Every year, we find ourselves facing a shortfall at the end of February.
- And it’s not just that February has fewer days than the other months.
- It’s that we don’t see the uptick in online donations specifically on the last day of February that we see on the last day of all the other months.
- I don’t know why people seem more likely to donate on the last day of a month *except* when that month happens to be February.
- Maybe the shortened calendar just kind of catches folks by surprise every February?
- But it happens year in and year out.
So here’s where things stand:
We need 425 people to donate by midnight tonight or we won’t close the gap.
If you can, please donate today.
Anything you can chip in — $5 or $25, $50 or $100, $500 or maybe even more — will help this shared project called Public Citizen continue standing up to corporate greed and government inaction.
CONTRIBUTE NOW
Or sign up to be a Monthly Donor and help make sure we have a consistent, baseline level of financial strength as we take on Big Business and Uncle Sam!
Please don’t assume we’ll make it whether you donate or not. When we get down to the wire on days like this, so many people seem to figure enough other people will chip in that hardly anyone actually does.
Thank you for reading this, and thank you for everything you do as part of Public Citizen.
- Robert Weissman, President of Public Citizen
P.S. If donating today is not right for you, that’s okay. I hope you’ll understand that I need to ask when we’re facing a shortfall like this so we have the resources to carry out all the essential work you and Public Citizen are doing together.
