Hi John,

Have you heard the news? Energy bills are set to rise by 20% in April. [1]

With skyrocketing bills it begs the question: why on earth is the government banning new onshore wind farms in England?

Onshore wind is one of the cheapest forms of energy around - so we desperately need more of it to lower bills and tackle climate change. [2] Please can you sign the urgent petition calling on the government to lift the ban on new onshore wind farms?

Thanks to the ban on new onshore wind, an estimated £4,500,000,000 has been added to our energy bills since 2014. And with bills set to rise again next month it’s unforgivable for the government to continue blocking cheap, clean onshore wind energy. [3]

Public pressure including our 100,000 strong petition forced the government to launch a consultation on relaxing the onshore wind ban at the end of last year. [4] The consultation ends on Thursday - so we need to make our voices heard again and tell the government to support clean, green, homegrown onshore wind energy.

Our huge petition helped force the government to launch a consultation at the end of last year - so with another push now we can convince them to lift the ban for good. Can you take a moment to sign the petition?

Onshore wind energy is the cheapest, cleanest form of energy around and is popular with the public too. Two thirds of people support lifting the ban on new onshore wind farms - it really is a no brainer. [5]

It’s high time the government sees sense and takes the brakes off new onshore wind. Agree? Well why not tell them yourself by signing the petition.

Thanks for all that you do,

Aiyan Maharasingam
