I won’t sugarcoat it: Seeing extremists like Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, and Marjorie Taylor Greene in important committee positions is scary. As the Ranking Member of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, I know committees hold a lot of responsibility in providing accountability and oversight on behalf of the American people. These extremists clearly care more about partisan political stunts than actually doing their jobs.

We don’t have time for it. People are hurting right now. While inflation is coming down, it’s still high. We are losing lives to preventable gun violence at an alarming rate. Abortion rights have been stripped away for so many across the nation. And extreme Republicans continue to actively undermine our democracy at every turn.

Our only option is to take back the House in 2024. We need to start right now if we’re going to hold on to all of our current seats and put Democrats back in control in Washington — we only need to gain nine seats to do it.
