The general election is on February 8th, and the next government will be in power in a critical time for the climate. They could be in power for 5 years - a window of opportunity in which emissions need to fall rapidly year on year in order to do our bit to keep the planet from dangerous warming. In short, this is the climate election, and they need to know that we demand faster, fairer action. That means that between now and February 8th, every conversation or interaction with an election candidate counts.
For too long, politicians have been resting on their laurels, proclaiming that climate is not a topic that they hear on the doorsteps, using that as an excuse for inaction.
We want to support you to be part of changing that.
Stop Climate Chaos is part of the One Future - Faster and Fairer Climate Action people's campaign that launched earlier this week, and has been endorsed by youth, faith, development, agricultural and grassroots groups, to name a few. One Future aims to give people across Ireland the support, tools and connections to be able to challenge #GE2020 candidates, transforming climate concern into meaningful action.

Over the coming weeks, together with other One Future member groups, we will be sharing actions that you can take part in, helping spread the word and get as many people talking to their election candidates about climate action as possible.

Time is not on our side. February 8th will be here fast. But what we do have is concerned people ready to act across the country, and the power of that cannot be underestimated. With you part of this growing campaign, we'll get lots more people challenging politicians to take the action required. Which right now, is exactly what we need.
