Our work on vaccine justice saw us collaborating with global movements to address the stark inequalities in access to COVID-19 vaccinations. This included work with disadvantaged ‘favela’ communities in Rio de Janeiro to produce a film highlighting the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on people living in cramped, overcrowded conditions on Brazil's economic margins.

Joao, a community leader and favela resident, tells us:

“After the first people were vaccinated, we saw more people going out. We saw that people were feeling safer. Those same people who were afraid to open their door for a neighbour in need…started to wonder…maybe I can open the door?”

If eight people each gave £10 per month, it could cover the cost of hosting online meetings with community activists from around the world.
