The Nonduality of Being and Becoming

We are thrilled to announce that beginning this Saturday 25th January, Andrew Cohen is launching a brand new series of weekly teachings.
Each two hour session can be attended independently, as a standalone teaching. But together they will build into an extraordinary journey of awakening and discovery – a complete and in-depth introduction to the fundamental principles of Evolutionary Enlightenment.
As the weeks unfold, the series will include teachings on:
- Evolutionary Nonduality in theory and practice
- The supreme importance of meditation
- The profound distinction between Being and Becoming
- Why the states of meditation and enlightenment are one and the same
- The nature of suffering and its role in the quest for enlightenment
- The nature of ego and why it is considered the eternal enemy of freedom
- Cultivating clarity of mind, critical thinking and objectivity
- A deep examination of the “process perspective”
- The pivotal role of spiritual friendships in the path of radical awakening
In the first of these weekly teachings, Andrew will begin exploring the subtle and complex subject of the Nonduality of Being and Becoming. A deep experiential and philosophical grasp of this subject is foundational, and essential to the theory and practice of Evolutionary Enlightenment.

The direct realization of nonduality or Absolute Oneness is profound beyond measure, but often seems elusive. The truth is that with the right guidance and transmission from an authentic teacher, we can directly experience this mystery for ourselves.
The deepest grasp of the meaning and implication of nonduality, the realisation that there is only one and not two, is at the very heart of any authentic mystical perspective. But in Evolutionary Enlightenment, nonduality is recognised to have two paradoxical qualities.
Being is the timeless, formless ground of all-that-is, the felt experience of Peace. Becoming is the felt experience of evolutionary urgency. Being and Becoming together represent the metaphysical totality of everything: the manifest and the unmanifest.
What is the relationship between these two apparently contradictory facets of Absolute Oneness?
