Hi John,

Just checking in to make sure you saw Emily’s email earlier today. I hope you had the chance to learn more about polar bears and the threats they’re facing due to climate change.

To celebrate International Polar Bear Day, we’ve had over 100 new Eco Partners sign up as monthly donors. Now, we still need 40 more Eco Partners to reach our goal of 150 new monthly donors by midnight tonight. Will you be one of our new Eco Partners and start a monthly gift to help us close the gap?

Starting a new monthly gift today will make major climate successes possible in 2023 — slashing climate pollution, putting the brakes on warming and creating a vital Earth for everyone.

Thank you for all you do,

Sam Parry

Today is International Polar Bear Day!

Learn more about polar bears

John, polar bears have called the Arctic home for approximately 500,000 years. But now because of climate change, sea ice is rapidly melting beneath their paws and threatening their survival.

To celebrate International Polar Bear Day, check out our interactive webpage to test your knowledge and learn more about these beautiful, powerful and threatened creatures.

Without urgent action to tackle climate change, scientists predict Arctic summer sea ice could disappear around 2050, threatening polar bears and other animals that need sea ice to survive.

What can you do to help polar bears threatened by a warming world? Three things:

  1. Symbolically adopt a polar bear by becoming one of 150 new Eco Partner monthly donors. If you start a monthly donation of $15 or more, you can choose a polar bear themed gift and the Robert W. Wilson Charitable Trust will match your first 12 donations $1 for $1, doubling your impact for the next full year

  2. Respond to EDF Action Alerts and join forces with your fellow 3 million members and activists to tell decision-makers to make bold climate action now.

  3. Forward this email and share our interactive International Polar Bear Day feature with your friends, family and community to spread the word about our work to slash climate pollution and create a vital Earth for everyone.

As an EDF supporter, your donations and advocacy make possible all our efforts to stabilize the climate, protect our health and strengthen the ability of people and nature to thrive.

Thank you for standing with us,
