In several states last year, voters decisively chose to protect abortion rights at the ballot box. But now, anti-choice legislators in other states are trying to silence voters by making it harder to pass ballot measures altogether.

Friends, the role of ballot measures in the fight for reproductive freedom has been getting more and more attention recently:

Several headlines highlight the success of using ballot measures to protect abortion rights

The reason is simple: Ballot measures have officially become the new battleground for abortion rights in 2023. Help us fight back → Rush an emergency donation before tomorrow’s End-of-Month deadline to our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign (BMRC) now to protect ballot measures AND abortion rights in the states.

Last year, after Roe v. Wade was struck down, anti-choice extremists pounced at the opportunity to reinstate 100-year-old trigger bans on the books from before the landmark ruling. But when Election Day came around, voters fought back. All across the country, Americans stepped up at the ballot box to show these extremists that we will NOT back down in the fight to maintain our fundamental rights.

In several states last year, voters decisively chose to protect abortion rights at the ballot box. But now, anti-choice legislators in other states are trying to silence voters by making it harder to pass ballot measures altogether. That’s why we’re gearing up to fight even harder to defend the ballot in 2023.

HELP US FIGHT BACK!

Our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign is a $5 million effort to protect direct democracy from attacks on the ballot measure process. As more and more extremist legislators attempt to curtail the power of ballot measures, it’s critical that we keep the BMRC well-funded so we can stop any threats dead in their tracks. Will you chip in a donation before tomorrow’s fundraising deadline to help us hit our $10,000 goal and fuel our BMRC as we fight back against attacks on the ballot box?
